Prep

Prepare Your Surface

Specialty DTF transfers (neon and glitter) are designed for easy application, so removing moisture or wrinkles before pressing is not required. A pre-press is optional and only needed if you prefer to do one.

Pro Tip: For any garment or material you have not pressed before, we recommend doing a small test press first. This helps confirm your heat, pressure, and timing settings for the best final result.

Position

Position Your Design

Position your specialty transfer exactly where you want it and make sure it lays flat before pressing. These transfers can be applied over seams, including 6-panel hats and side seams on t-shirts.

For hats or applications using a household iron, heat-resistant tape is recommended to help keep the transfer from moving during pressing.

Press

Press & Peel

Press your specialty DTF transfer at 310°F / 155°C using medium to firm pressure for 12 seconds.

Cover the transfer and garment with parchment paper during pressing, then allow it to cool for a few seconds before peeling.

Pro Tip: A silicone garment protector can help speed up production while reducing the risk of scorching.

Final Press & Care

After peeling, cover the design with parchment paper or a thin layer of t-shirt material, then press again for 12 seconds. This helps improve the feel, durability, and overall appearance of the transfer.

Care Instructions: Wash inside out with cold water. Tumble dry on low heat or hang to dry. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners.

Fluorescent Ink

Neon DTF Transfers

Everything you need to know about our fluorescent neon DTF transfers — from color options to UV reactivity and application tips.

What are Neon DTF transfers?

Neon DTF transfers use specialty fluorescent inks to produce vibrant, high-visibility colors that stand out far more than standard CMYK printing. They are printed on DTF film with adhesive powder and applied the same way as regular DTF transfers — using a heat press at 310°F for 12 seconds.

What neon colors are available?

Our fluorescent neon ink set includes neon pink, neon yellow, neon green, and neon orange. These can be printed as solid neon colors or blended with standard CMYK inks in a single design for creative combinations that mix vivid neon highlights with full-color detail.

Do neon transfers glow under blacklight or UV light?

Yes. Fluorescent inks are UV-reactive, so neon DTF transfers will glow under blacklight. This makes them a popular choice for event merch, nightclub apparel, party shirts, glow runs, and festival gear where UV lighting is common.

What fabrics work with neon DTF transfers?

Neon DTF transfers work on the same fabrics as standard DTF — cotton, polyester, poly-cotton blends, nylon, denim, canvas, and more. They can be applied to light or dark garments without needing separate transfer types.

Are neon transfers as durable as standard DTF?

Yes. When applied correctly, neon DTF transfers have the same wash durability as standard DTF. Wash inside out with cold water and tumble dry on low for best results. Fluorescent colors may soften slightly over many washes, which is normal for all fluorescent inks across any print method.

Sparkle & Texture

Glitter DTF Transfers

Everything you need to know about our glitter DTF transfers — shimmer, durability, hand feel, and how they compare to standard DTF.

What are Glitter DTF transfers?

Glitter DTF transfers combine full-color DTF printing with a glitter adhesive layer that gives the finished design a shimmering, sparkle effect. They are applied the same way as regular DTF transfers and work on all the same fabrics — no special equipment or extra steps required.

Does the glitter finish feel rough on the garment?

Glitter DTF transfers have a slightly textured feel compared to standard DTF, but they are not rough or uncomfortable. The glitter particles are embedded in the adhesive layer and sealed during pressing, so the surface is smooth enough for everyday wear while still delivering visible sparkle and shimmer.

Will the glitter flake off or shed after washing?

No. Unlike loose craft glitter or iron-on glitter vinyl, the shimmer in glitter DTF transfers is locked into the adhesive layer during the heat press process. When applied correctly, the glitter will not flake, peel, or shed. For best longevity, wash inside out in cold water and avoid bleach.

Can I print full-color designs with glitter?

Yes. Glitter DTF transfers support full CMYK color, so you can print photographic images, gradients, logos, and detailed artwork — all with a glitter finish. The sparkle effect appears across the entire printed area of the design.

What is glitter DTF most popular for?

Glitter DTF transfers are a favorite for cheer and dance team uniforms, boutique fashion, birthday and party shirts, sorority and Greek apparel, kids' clothing, and personalized gifts. Any design that benefits from a little extra sparkle is a great fit for glitter DTF.
