Pre-Press Your Substrate
Pre-press your blank for 5–10 seconds at 385°F to remove moisture and wrinkles. For apparel, press the garment flat. For hard goods like mugs or metal blanks, preheat to ensure even ink transfer.

BUILD YOUR OWN
DIY Printz Sublimation Gang Sheet Builder is built for customers who want a fast, easy way to create sublimation transfer gang sheets without design software. Upload your artwork, set your imprint sizes, choose quantities, and preview your layout before ordering — all in one place.
Sublimation transfers work by using heat and pressure to permanently infuse ink into polyester fabrics and poly-coated substrates. Unlike DTF or screen printing, sublimation ink becomes part of the material itself, producing vibrant, full-color results that won’t crack, peel, or fade with washing.
Our gang sheet builder automatically arranges your designs on a 22" wide sheet to maximize space and reduce waste. This is especially valuable when you’re producing multiple logos, names, or repeating designs for production runs on t-shirts, tumblers, mouse pads, puzzles, and more.
Sublimation is ideal for polyester apparel, performance wear, mugs, tumblers, coasters, metal blanks, ceramic tiles, phone cases, mouse pads, puzzles, and other poly-coated hard goods. If you’re decorating products for your brand, shop, or personal projects, sublimation delivers a premium, embedded print that lasts.
Once you approve your layout, we print your sublimation transfers and ship within 3–4 business days. You press them at home or in your shop using a heat press at 385°F–400°F for the time required by your specific substrate.

Every DIY Printz sublimation transfer is printed and ready to press. Follow these four steps for vibrant, permanent results on polyester and poly-coated substrates.
Pre-press your blank for 5–10 seconds at 385°F to remove moisture and wrinkles. For apparel, press the garment flat. For hard goods like mugs or metal blanks, preheat to ensure even ink transfer.
Position the sublimation transfer face down on your substrate. The printed side must touch the polyester or poly-coated surface. Use heat-resistant tape to secure the edges and prevent shifting during pressing.
Apparel: Press at 385°F–400°F for 45–60 seconds with firm pressure. Hard goods: Follow substrate-specific time and temperature (mugs ~3–4 min, metal ~60–90 sec). Remove the transfer paper immediately after pressing (hot peel).
Peel the transfer paper away while still hot. The ink is now permanently infused into the substrate — no additional pressing needed. For apparel, wash inside out in cold water and tumble dry on low. Sublimation prints will not crack, peel, or fade.
Everything you need to know about sublimation transfers, compatible products, pressing, and care.
Common questions about sublimation transfers, compatible products, application, and care.
Sublimation transfers use special ink printed on transfer paper that, when heat-pressed, turns into a gas and permanently bonds with polyester fibers or poly-coated surfaces. The result is a vibrant, full-color print that is embedded into the material — it will not crack, peel, or fade because the ink becomes part of the substrate itself.
Sublimation works on any substrate that is polyester or has a poly-coating. Common products include:
Sublimation does not work on 100% cotton, dark fabrics, or uncoated surfaces.
Settings vary by substrate. Always preheat your blank before pressing.
Polyester Apparel
Mugs & Tumblers
Metal Blanks & Aluminum
Mouse Pads & Puzzles
Tip: Always test press a sample first when working with a new substrate.
Sublimation ink turns into gas and permanently infuses into polyester/poly-coated substrates — producing a smooth, no-texture print that lasts indefinitely. It only works on white or light polyester and poly-coated surfaces.
DTF (Direct to Film) prints on a film with adhesive that bonds to virtually any fabric including cotton and dark garments. DTF sits on top of the fabric, while sublimation becomes part of it.
Choose sublimation for polyester apparel, drinkware, and hard goods. Choose DTF for cotton, dark garments, and mixed fabrics.
Common causes of dull sublimation results:
Fix: Ensure your substrate is polyester or poly-coated, preheat the blank, and press at the correct time and temperature for your specific product.
A household iron is not recommended for sublimation. Sublimation requires consistent temperature (385°F–400°F), even pressure, and precise timing that only a heat press can reliably deliver. Using an iron will result in uneven color, incomplete ink transfer, and poor durability.
For best results, upload a PNG at 300 DPI with the exact dimensions you want printed. We also accept JPG, PDF, and AI files. Sublimation reproduces color very accurately, so make sure your artwork colors are what you want in the final product. Keep in mind sublimation prints on white/light substrates only — there is no white ink in sublimation.
Sublimation transfer orders are produced and shipped within 3–4 business days. Orders ship via UPS Ground from Davie, Florida. Most Florida deliveries arrive in 1–2 additional days. Nationwide delivery is typically 2–5 business days after shipping. Free shipping on orders over $250.
Because sublimation ink is embedded in the fibers, it is extremely durable. For best results:
Sublimation prints will not crack, peel, or fade with normal washing.
Store your sublimation transfers flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Do not fold or crease the paper. Moisture can affect ink transfer quality, so keep them sealed in a bag or container until you are ready to press.
