Build the brand. Sell the shirts. Put DIY Printz behind the printing.
Your next apparel order should not depend on buying a printer or finding more production hours. DIY Printz gives print shops, embroidery businesses, apparel brands, and resellers a way to order custom DTG printing through a dedicated production partner.
Supply suitable blank garments for contract decoration, or ask us to quote garments and printing together. Start through our Contract DTG Printing order page and build your quote around the actual job.
What is contract DTG printing?
Contract direct-to-garment printing is an outsourced apparel service in which a production partner prints artwork directly onto suitable garments. Businesses use it to supply custom shirts to their own customers without operating DTG printing equipment.
DTG can reproduce full-color artwork, gradients, and detailed illustrations. Fabric selection, garment preparation, and curing all affect the finished result. Dark-garment work commonly uses a white ink underbase and pretreatment.
Two ways to order custom DTG shirts
Bring your customer-supplied garments
Already have blanks from your preferred supplier? Send us the brand, style, fabric content, colors, sizes, and quantities before delivery. Confirm suitability first, especially for blends, specialty finishes, or unusual construction. Cotton-rich garments are common DTG candidates, but the exact style matters.
This route lets decorators keep their chosen apparel supplier while outsourcing printing. Supply an itemized garment list and approved artwork with dimensions and locations.
Order garments and printing through DIY Printz
Need help putting the complete order together? Ask DIY Printz for a finished-shirt quote covering the requested blanks and DTG decoration. Specify the fit, fabric, colors, size range, and intended use. Garment availability and price are confirmed with the quote.
Print-only rates are not finished-shirt prices. The garment cost must be included whether you purchase the blanks yourself or order them through us.
Built for shops, clothing brands, and apparel resellers
Screen printing shops can quote suitable detailed or full-color work through an outside DTG partner. Embroidery businesses can add printed merchandise to a customer account. Brokers and clothing brands can focus on approvals, sales, and customer relationships while DIY Printz handles the printing.
For online sellers, planned DTG batches can support product launches and inventory sold through your own website or platforms such as Etsy, eBay, and Amazon. Plan your listings and fulfillment around the confirmed production schedule. Discuss shipping requirements separately when requesting your quote.
Understand your DTG printing costs before quoting
Pricing is per garment, per print location. The selected rates below cover printing only. Your final quote accounts for size, print method, quantity, artwork coverage, and applicable order charges.
| Qty per method | Light 4×4 | Light 12×14 | Dark 4×4 | Dark 12×14 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $6.00 | $12.00 | $8.00 | $16.00 |
| 6 | $5.43 | $10.41 | $7.20 | $13.95 |
| 12 | $4.75 | $8.50 | $6.25 | $11.50 |
| 24 | $4.10 | $7.25 | $5.50 | $9.75 |
| 48 | $3.50 | $6.25 | $4.75 | $8.50 |
| 100 | $3.00 | $5.25 | $4.15 | $7.25 |
| 250 | $2.65 | $4.75 | $3.75 | $6.60 |
| 500 | $2.40 | $4.35 | $3.50 | $6.20 |
| 1,000 | $2.15 | $3.85 | $3.25 | $5.70 |
- $35 minimum print charge: Applied once to the job's printing charge, not separately to each location.
- Under 12 total garments: Add $8 setup for the first location and $5 for each additional location, after applying the print minimum.
- 12 or more total garments: No small-order setup. Adult and youth quantities across all colors count together toward this threshold.
- Quantity discounts: Calculated separately for each print method within the job. The setup threshold and discount calculation are different rules.
- Custom sizes: Priced by printed area, not linear inches. Artwork smaller than 4×4 uses the minimum print price; maximum size is 14×16 inches.
- Dense artwork: Adds 25%. Garments, shipping, and taxes are excluded from the print rates.
Displayed rates are rounded. The quote rounds each location/method subtotal, so use the contract DTG order page for the final job price rather than treating this table as a complete invoice.
What could your sample or production batch cost?
The examples below use standard artwork, displayed rates, and one location unless stated otherwise. They exclude blanks, shipping, and tax.
- One sample, one location: The $35 print minimum plus $8 setup starts at $43. The individual $6–$16 table rate does not override the job minimum.
- Six dark garments, 12×14 print: 6 × $13.95 = $83.70, plus $8 setup = approximately $91.70, or $15.28 per garment for printing and setup.
- 24 dark garments, 12×14 print: 24 × $9.75 = approximately $234, with no small-order setup.
- 12 dark garments, two locations: A 4×4 print at $6.25 plus a 12×14 print at $11.50 gives approximately $213 for the job, with no small-order setup.
Use a sample to approve the product. Use confirmed demand to decide the batch size. A lower per-shirt print rate helps only when the additional inventory has a realistic path to sale.
Build a resale price that covers the complete shirt
Start with the blank, printing, allocated setup, packaging, and applicable freight. Then allow for selling fees, customer acquisition, and remakes. Garments supplied by your customer still have a cost in that customer's resale calculation.
| Per-shirt calculation | Example amount |
|---|---|
| Assumed blank garment | $4.50 |
| DTG printing at displayed 24-piece rate | $9.75 |
| Assumed packaging | $1.00 |
| Subtotal before selling fees | $15.25 |
| Illustrative retail price | $30.00 |
| Assumed selling fee: 10% of retail price | $3.00 |
| Contribution before remaining expenses | $11.75 |
That $11.75 is about 39.2% of the selling price, but it is not net profit. Freight, advertising, overhead, remakes, and other expenses still reduce it.
Markup and margin are different
A 50% markup on a $20 cost produces a $30 price and a 33.3% margin before other expenses. A 50% margin on that same cost requires a $40 price. For a cost base that includes all relevant costs, use: selling price = cost ÷ (1 − target margin). Account separately for fees calculated as a percentage of the selling price.
Three ways to promote your DTG-printed garments
Launch a focused brand collection
Start with a few original designs for a defined audience. Photograph real samples, show fit and print detail, and explain the design's story. Keep the first collection manageable instead of spreading demand across dozens of options.
Sell coordinated business and event orders
Offer a clear package for staff, community groups, or events: garment choice, design approval, print locations, quantities, and a confirmed deadline. Present the finished apparel value rather than a standalone printing price.
Use preorders and paid demand to plan batches
Approve a sample, set a defined ordering window, and group paid demand into a production order. Keep promised delivery dates consistent with the confirmed schedule. Track contribution per shirt, sell-through, and repeat orders before expanding.
Prepare your job for DIY Printz
Provide the garment details, size breakdown, artwork files, print dimensions, locations, and requested completion date. Confirm artwork, garment suitability, current handling terms for supplied garments, and production timing before making commitments to your customer.
For file preparation, explore our AI artwork prompts and resources. Inspect edited files carefully; background removal alone does not restore detail missing from a low-resolution original.
DIY Printz supports DTG customers in Davie, Broward County, and beyond. Request your next contract DTG printing quote for supplied blanks or a complete custom-shirt order. DTG production timing must be confirmed separately from same-day DTF transfer services.

Yes, subject to garment suitability and the current supplied-garment terms. Send the style, fabric content, colors, and quantities for review before delivery.
